Icon5 D or N at traffic lights?

Hi,
Is it better to stay on D and hold the brake or shift to N while waiting at traffic lights?
My main concern is the longevity of transmission and engine.
AFAIK, fuel saving is negligible.
2017 Accord CVT.
Kinda beginner question I know.
Thanks in advance

On the CVT without a torque converter it doesn't matter. The computer removes pressure from the start clutch with you are at a stop with your foot on the brake.

(Not that it would utlimately matter, but) You'd ultimately be doing more wear and tear by constantly moving the shifter back and forth than just leaving it in Drive.

You're also creating more of a safety hazard leaving yourself in a non-running gear while waiting.

No torque converter? What does the crank bolt to? The flex plate to torque converter.

Am not an expert or anything, but doesn't the 2017 Accord have a torque converter?

Looks like it does. But it also seems to have a forward clutch. Not sure if they are releasing this clutch at a stop or not.

Many of the Honda CVTs do not have a torque converter with the CVT and use a start clutch.

Show me one that doesn't have a torque coverter.

All of the Hybrids that used IMA with a CVT.
