Need chassis welding help! Seam welding unibody w/ TIG
I am seam welding my 05 focus 4 door, and don't have MIG. Only TIG. I have cleaned the metal pretty well, but not well enough, bc I cant get between the layers that are spot welded together. Tried quick pass w/ no filler to burn a bit off, clean w/ 99% iso or acetone in between passes, but still getting too much contamination. Using 70s-6 filler.
Can I drop a little muriatic acid on the seam to clean up the inaccessible seam? Or can I use flux core wire w/ a TIG torch? lol
Help! Gotta finish this before I can drop the motor in. Pics are after quick passes over everything w/ no filler to burn off a little. Still getting contamination bubbles.
