Default 04-06 TSX cams in a 09 CRV K24Z1 head?

Will the 04-06 TSX cams work in a 09 CRV K24Z1 head?
I want more power. I’m planning on putting TSX 10.5 CR pistons in my block and I’d like to have a better cam. I’m thinking I can use the 2010 crv ECU to help with the higher RPMs since my ECU is limited around 6700-6800 RPMs

I just want to start with will the cams fit first. Any help will be appreciated.

No, TSX uses three lobes and three rockers for a true VTEC on the intake and exhaust.

CR-V is intake only VTEC and only uses two rocker arms and two lobes.

The cams are not compatible in anyway.

Closest match might be the 12-15 Civic SI with the K24Z7. It's also two lobe VTEC on the intake and no VTEC on the exhaust.

The problem will be what computer do you run it on? The 3k VTEC cross over point is going to be way too low and the VTC map is going to be completely wrong. The intake manifold resonance probably won't match the cams well either.

Idk why I didn’t catch that. I had a 05 TSX and new it was different. Old age I guess. I am sort of new to the k series tho. I’ve been looking up specs ,etc and I think I will be able to pull off the 180 hp 2010-2011 crv engine. It has a different intake and exhaust manifold but that’s part of the power. On top of that I should be able to use the 2010-2011 ECU also. The transmissions have the same gear ratios.
I read where these motors kick vtec in by the load on the engine. As low as 2300-2400 in econo and full throttle it says 4500. I’m just gonna probably, eventually do the 2010/2011 swap.
the mounts are the same too. Which is typical Honda thing. Learned a lot of that with doing d/b series swaps for years.
I would do a newer Si swap if I could swap a 5 speed awd trans convert to 6 speed but idk about the linkage mechanism for the shifter. I’d love to do that swap some day.
I kind of find it crazy that hondata doesn’t do a tune for the 3rd Gen crv. There’s money to be made there. I’m on forums where people all over the world wanting ECU tune for there 2.4l CRVs.
thanks for the info.

I know this is a few months old, but what was the outcome? I have an 09 and I'm looking to do cams, intake, exhaust, then a tune. Just want a little more punch. The 166/160 is fine for most of my driving, but there are plenty of times where I could have used more power.
