Default Immobilizer problems solved?

Hello. I have a 2001 Accord SE with 171,000 miles.
As I recall it suddenly had the common issue of not starting because the green key light was not illuminated. At random. I learned to tap the plastic above my left knee and the light would come on, and the engine would start. That stopped being so reliable, and we haven't used the car for years. But today after replacing the battery and coaxing a start out of it, I just messed a little with wires. Unplugged and plugged the relay and ignition switch. It wouldn't start. No light. So i put the plastic back on so i could tap it. It started. And it started, with normal brief green light to indicate immobilizer function, and 5 flash green light after turning off the car and removing the key. And it started 10 more times in this normal way. No tapping. And what I noticed is the odometer. And the led digital readout always looking broken. Now it doesn't. I've repaired that on another Accord, just by reheating the solder on the 24 pins. Very simple. Is the starting/immobilizer problem due to weak solder joints on the board? Has anyone solved this immobilizer issue by resoldering?
