Speedometer is 10 mph faster then actual speed

Why am I moving 10 mph slower then my speedometer says?

Are you running factory sized tyres? 10mph at what speed? At 20mph or at 120mph?

It's showing the correct speed until about 50 mph

The year of the car could help. My 93 is usually +10mps slow due to a bad speedometer, so I just drive by my tachometer. It gets worse in colder weather.

Some people say to check the speed checker thing on the transmission. I replaced it and it didn't make any difference for me.
