I got a 07' Civic Hybrid that I cannot figure out why the BRAKE SYSTEM light is on...I noticed the light comes on when I drive for ~1 mile when I start stepping on the brake peddle...If I turn the car off than on, light goes away...I checked all the fuses and none are blown, no abs light or any other lights are on...



It's not worth taking this old beater with 240k miles and I want to get a year out of it and the battery was replaced at 100k miles but this issue came around this year...



Any Hybrid experts that can give me some clues for what to look for?

 

Is the brake fluid low?

 

Brake fluid looks good...I'll try to bleed brakes and add fresh fluid but it's not low right now
