Possible to get 94 del sol running? Rusted clutch
Have opportunity to get this 94 Del Sol. Wondering if it's worth trying to fix and if so if parts are even available and how much $ would I have to put into it potentially. All of this rust inside the cabin in clutch pedal gives me angst! It hasn't run in 10 yrs. Been stuck in a garage. 4 Completely flat tires. Ill fitting radio with speakers hanging out of doors and wiring dangling from dash under steering wheel. Gasket loose and hanging free from around the front windshield. Peeling bumper. Can't get it up to look under it. Thoughts?
Absolutely not, unless you want to spend multiple years and 3x the value of the car sourcing parts to get it back to a good condition.
Which in that case you'd be better off waiting and watching the market for a better Del Sol to come up.

So it's a really bad sign of damage or it's just a parts issue mainly? Aren't there other year models with interchangeable parts or non-OEM parts? Seems like quite a few people have brought old del sols back to life the ladt couple years. Inherited this from a family member but would be out about $800 to have it shipped home. Would love to keep it if could get it running safely for say $5k. So you're saying that's a pipe dream? Where is most likely cause of the water/rust issue? Someone told us it might have a broken water pump but that wouldn't be the cause of this.
