2001 Honda crv cylinder 4 misfire p0304 p0300
Hi all
was looking to get some tips or advice on my crv 165,000 miles
so one day out of nowhere my check engine light started flashing
I check the codes and it’s a p0300 and p0304
misfire in any cylinder and misfire in cylinder 4
so I start by changing the spark plugs, coils, and distributer from TRQ
still same stuff
i check my compression in each cylinder and I get
cylinder 1 - 3 = 180 psi
cylinder 4 = 90 psi
so I do some research and see that these cars have valve adjustment issues or whatever so I do a valve adjustment on intake .006 and exhaust .008
And now all 4 cylinders have 180 psi
i thought for sure that was the issue but clear the codes and it came back on
After this I did a leak down cylinder test, pressurised all the cylinder at 80psi and got
cylinder 1 - 78 psi
cylinder 2 - 75 psi
cylinder 3 - 76 psi
cylinder 4 - 77 psi
all them seem fine since it’s a couple psi off each cylinder unless I had to do 100psi of pressure idk
anyways this is where I’m at and would like some feedback also I saw one post said that they bought an aftermarket distributor and they got misfires and said you need a stock one from the dealer? Not sure if that’s true

Turned out to be the head gasket, don’t kno why the leak down test didn’t show it leaking maybe I did need to put in 100psi anyway thanks for all the help guys 💩
