Anyone know where the 2nd gen civic motor is stamped?
Trying to figure out how to find the casting numbers and serial on a 1983 civic motor and all I find is info for 88-up Honda motors. Anyone know if the stamp for the early 1980's motors are in the same area as newer motors, by where the trans bolts on?

It is on the backside of the engine by the starter. There is a flat rectangle pad back there. Clean it off and you will find all your info.
