We own a showroom pristine 1988 Si with low miles and no modifications whatsoever, garaged and in the family from day one. Unfortunately a muffler replacement in the 2010s led to the loss of the original factory dual tip muffler, which we now seek info on replacing to restore it to its fully unadulterated state - it was the sole exception/change to the car. What are our options?
New old stock may be impossible, so something which has a visually identical dual exhaust will work, but the exhaust pipes must be the same length, diameter, and distance apart. Any increase in size won't be acceptable - it has to stay with the stock look. Confirm the original diameter - 1.5"? We'll appreciate any and all info on reproducing the period-accurate look. Attached is a photo of the familiar original appearance. Thanks and with appreciation in advance.
