B18b1 metal shavings and stutter
Hi all,
ive been trying to get my b18b1 running right. I replaced my head gasket the other day due to coolant getting into oil. my first oil drain after rebuild had a good amount of sparkle in it, none was magnetic i don’t think. after doing the head gasket i loaded in new oil and drove it around the block. it started stuttering at 3k rpm like it was dying but would push past if i held the throttle open enough. I immediately made it back to my driveway and put it in neutral to hear any engine noise. i revved it and when it bogged back to idle i would hear a faint knocking. i freaked and drained the brand new oil and there was still metal shavings. i then pulled the oil pan and rod caps to see if i had rod knock… can someone tell me if these rod bearings are bad enough to cause knock? they are 300 miles in. and why would i have sparkly stuff in my oil still after changing it?
