replacing the ac compressor,
so stinky needs a new ac compressor. Has anyone just replaced the compressor and not all the other stuff in the ac system? How did it work out for you?
My plan would be, Install new compressor. Shoot 2 cans of r134 into the system with the hoses disconnected to blow out any crud in the lines. Attache the lines to the compressor, then fill the system with r134
Is this going to work or am I peeing in the wind?
Thanks

Illegally peeing in the wind.
Without drawing a vacuum on the system before recharging and then blindly filling the system with refrigerant is a waste of time.
Also discharging refrigerant is a federal crime. If you want to purge the system use nitrogen.
But with as many miles and how old the system is not replacing the line dryer and expansion valve will also be a waste of time.
