The orange “plastic” innards of the drivers’ side door (specifically the part that the panel is supposed to “hang” off of, and that holds the black fuzzy weatherstrip) has disintegrated, see pics.
i have some of the broken pieces, some have been identified (laid out in a line) and some still to be. The black fuzzy piece is bent.
Previous attempts to drive this damaged panel consistently result in the glass jumping the front channel…currently disassembled, the glass seems to roll up and down freely without binding. Im guessing that using the panel when its damaged like this is causing the glass-jump problem.
”How do I repair this panel so I can successfully reinstall?”
Used panels I see for sale online appear to have been repaired with a grey epoxy along the back side of the broken panel pieces…is that maybe “JB Weld”? Is that the best method to repair?
Even if I did manage to glue it back together like a broken china cup: it seems unlikely that the repaired area would hold the black fuzzy thing in place.
