Default Problem starting my 1992 honda civic

The battery reads 12volts but won't crank, every time I jump the car as if it's a dead battery the car starts and cranks with no problem and if i let the car sit off and try turning it back on itll try to slowly crank as if it not getting enough power then just not crank at all. Anyone have any ideas?

(Edit) Also forgot to mention I tried jumping the starter straight from the battery and it still wouldnt crank.

If it wont start by jumping to the starter, I would be looking at the grounds. Hondas for some reason really like to be grounded. take the negative cable off the battery and the body and SMACK it on the driveway. I mean beat the living daylights out of it. Then reinstall. There could be corrosion built up inside the ground cable

what's the voltage while trying to crank? If it drops below 11.6v (I think that's the spec...) then you need a new battery.

you could also have the electrical system tested- most auto parts stores in my area offer this service usually for free. Their tester will confirm if the battery is bad (not enough amperage for cranking)

your description points to a dead battery. Take it to an auto parts store and have them check it.

Not sure if you figured it out but I have the same issue as well. I started the car with no issues and stopped at a gas station to get some snacks and got back in and the car wouldn't start. So far Ive replaced the starter and still wouldn't start, then I checked the fuses and checking relays soon, if not that then on to the clutch switch. The ignition and the crank is fine as the terminal is getting power. I can even the fuel is getting primed. I was able to pull out the cable from the starter relay adapter and used a wire to jump the adapter and it started. No instead of having to open the hood all the time, I can do it from under the console. I'm having a hard time looking for the relay though.
