What you are looking for is a “pedal riser” or “pedal extension” that would wrap around your pedal.
I would not use what you have done, that just screams for something to get caught or come undone, or, crush the box when aggressively braking and causing you to crash.
Please do the right thing and remove the box. It’s just not safe.
