Water Temperature Sensor Relocation?
Hi all...
New guy here that has a Honda Del Sol that I would like to sell soon. Great little car but I have no room for it. I inherited it.
The one issue it has is the check engine light is on because the water temperature sensor broke off clean on the head. I can't get the rest of it out without tapping it out. I'm not sure how you do it right without taking it apart and I don't want to do that because it runs so good.
Is there another location that I could move the water temperature sensor to? Not sure if this has been a problem for anybody else but it's a pain in my butt right now.
Thanks for reading/helping!

Easiest solution would be to either tap the water pipe on the back of the block, or get some type of insert that would allow you to put the sensor inline in one of the radiator hoses (like this - https://www.ebay.com/itm/36276381710...3ABFBMluTdw6Vi)
Find the right insert for your radiator hose size and the temp sensor thread pitch/size, the one I linked above was just some random I pulled as an example. Put a new OEM replacement sensor into the insert, splice the insert into the hose, and you're done - you may also need to extend the wiring since the sensor is now now in the OEM location but I think that's just two wires.

Hey thanks. I appreciate the link. I now remember these exist. It's been a bit since I've played with cars. I was thinking they might make an aftermarket waterneck for these things. I know all kinds of people play with these cars so I just figured they existed and wouldn't necessarily have to extend the wiring. Great answer. I appreciate it!
