Default New (remanufactured) transmission won't go into reverse

I just installed a remanufactured transmission in my 2002 Honda Civic 1.7L automatic. The install went well but when I started it, I can only get it to go into Park or drive. It will stay put in park, reverse and neutral. It will roll forward in drive. It's in my barn so I can't tell how far forward it'll go or how it runs going forward.

The reverse lights do turn on when I put the car in reverse. I did notice that the gear indicator on the dash didn't light up perfectly, sometimes not lighting up when it's in neutral or reverse. Any ideas?

Is the range switch adjusted properly?

I will make sure to check this. Wouldn't it not start if it was in the wrong position?

I checked that and everything is lined up the way it should be.

Check the connector, terminals, and wiring at Connector C106.

Anything in particular I should be checking for?

Check that the terminals are not bent, clean, etc.
Check that wires are not pinched or broken.
Check the connector is tight.

Connector looks good. It was one of the harder ones for me to get unlatched, and it was tough this time too. It looked clean and nothing pinched.

The other connector pointed out in that photo was also really hard to disconnect and some of the plastic on the outside did break. Everything still connects well though.

Check ground bolt G101. Make sure that was bolted down properly.

I actually never even unhooked that ground, so it still looks good. One thing I know is that there's nothing I can do to fit a crush washer above and below the mount for the bolt I'm pointing to in the photo. It's a very slight leak, but I'm wondering if that could be something causing an issue. I have been checking my fluid level and I still have plenty. I just don't know the name of the bolt and I think maybe it's stripped at some point in the threads.

The car isn't going into drive consistently now either. I can feel/hear a difference from park to reverse/neutral, and then again when I switch to drive. Very lost at the moment.

That is not ground G101. G101 is not on the transmission. The G101 ground is the main ground for the PCM; the transmission controls goes through the PCM.

Sorry, I didn't mean I thought that was the ground. The G101 ground was still in tact the whole time and looks good.

I was pointing out what I think is called a banjo bolt (but confident in that) that I can't get to thread with the crush washer above and below the mount. I am curious if that could be my issue because there is a slow leak due to that.
