What filter matches the original design AEM Cold Air Intake (not V2) for the 1998 - 2002 Accord I4 F23 engines? The original AEM cotton filter on my original AEM Cold Air Intake (not V2) is in a very poor shape and in need of a replacement, but the K&N 2.5" Universal and DC Sports 2.5" filter will not stay on the intake tube. I see that AEM sells their current CAIs for my engine type with a 2.5" AEM DryFlow filter, but I don't see how a DryFlow filter will also fit my original intake without some mods. The original filter is in poor shape, so I can't trust the measurement on it, but I thought the inner flange diameter is actually 2.75".
What complicates the matter is that the original filter design has a long neck flange (>3"), while the available filters out there are at most 2" long. Here's a photo to illustrate my point. From Right to Left: original AEM filter, K&N RU-5174 and DC Sports DC-RAF250. So what filter matches the AEM CAI for the 1998 - 2002 Accord I4?

Re: What filter for the original AEM Cold Air Intake?
My 1000th post!!!!
So I looked up the intake for your generation accord, and according to AEM , 21-201DK is the replacement air filter for it (which is the same as the previous gen accord if I recall). Looking up the specs of this filter, I see that it has a 1.5" flange length.
I'm starting to wonder if your original filter has that long a flange or whether there is some coupler used between the end of the intake pipe and the flange of the filter itself,
Either way, K+N has bought out AEM. and sadly i find the quality of filters has dropped as a result. The last dryflow (im not into having to oil filters) type filter i bought was actually the blue filter from injen. Even so the longest flange im seeing anywhere is 2". I really am wondering if this is some sort of strange coupler? Canyou remove the band clamp where you have it or take a pic up the tube?
