Default 1993 Civic dash harness different for engine swaps

Is there differences in performance pins on the dash wiring harness between a civic 1993 and a 1998?

My civic is a 1993 LX and we swapped the engine from a D16Z6 to a 1998 D16Y8 vtech. I've read that all stock 1993 dash harnesses are prewired for vtech. We installed a replacement the instrument cluster that was previously removed which I later realized was a 1998 EX. The dash harness that I reinstalled is a stock manual 1993. The harness in the engine is stock and ran great it's first race out before we repaired the dash area. After the dash area refurbish, I have no speedometer and my tach rests as 1500-2000 with the key on and engine not turned. The engine light does not throw speed sensor codes either. I can replace the speed sensor but that does not address the tach?

Any direction is appreciated

92-95 is OBD1
96-00 is OBD2

Different wiring. The D16Y8 is OBD2. I don't have the 96-00 FSM handy right at the moment but I do know the ECU plugs are greatly different so the pinouts else where also probably vary.
