Need help
2000 civic D16
When I turn the key all the way it loses power. Recently changed the battery and cleaned the grounds and changed the starter. I’m able to jump the car and get it running but after a few blocks the odometer drops to 0 and starts stalling and eventually cuts out. After that I’d need to give the car another jump in order to get it running again. I’m thinking there’s definitely a short somewhere but don’t know where to start. Thanks in advanced

I swear there is a common issue with a wire that grounds itself when it rubs against a metal bracket by the intake manifold or the O2 sensor grounds when it touches the header shield, I'm super tired right now its 4am and im at work but it sounds like something like that going on.

Lift your car up, like really LIFT it up, high high off the ground, then place it on jackstands.
Now you need to crawl underneath the car and remove the oil filter.
When that stops dripping, there's a bracket that holds your intake manifold to your engine block, go ahead and remove that bracket.
Look at the wiring harness that was attached to the bracket and see if there's broken/melted/frayed wiring. If there is, then go ahead and fix those. The wires that are attached to that bracket go to your O2 sensor, Electronic Load Detector (ELD), VTEC solenoid, and knock sensor; this is the one of the only places on the engine where all the wires are touching each other and bolted down to a piece of metal. I haven't seen this issue on the B16s before, but it happens all the time on the D16Y8 engine.
Once that's solved, put everything back together and start the car. Did the problem go away?
