I just got into racing a Honda Accord in a fwd local group, after replacing the old engine with a F23A1 and setting up a bypass switch to the Vtec solenoid. For some reason when I go to race it will only allow me to use first gear and redlines at 5000 rpm, replacing the transmission soon due to the original owner finding some codes that indicate the transmission needs some repair, but if that's not the issue then I have no idea what the issue is so I'm asking for any advice.
