Door Lock Issue
Hey everyone,
I just bought a 2003 Civic LX Coupe and the drivers door lock is.. weird to say the least.
the key was going in only sometimes so I thought it was just sticky, so I got in there with some penetrating spray and it helped the key go in.
Now I can sometimes turn the key and it will work, other times it won’t turn either way and sometimes it’ll only turn one way.
I got into the door and saw that lines going to the key lock was fine, and the one going to the inside door lock was also fine (Atleast that’s what I think)
I’m trying to figure out what could be the cause of the problem is so I can fix it, I’m thinking it’s gonna be the actuator but I’m not entirely sure as I’m new with older Hondas.
Any help would be great, thanks in advance 👍🏻

Ok some updates:
The other key works much better and turns 90% of the time, I’ll assume it’s wear in the cylinder and key that’s affecting that. So it opens and closes pretty much fine, but the inside manual door lock doesn’t really work. It seems sticky and it doesn’t stay down at all, just kinda slowly bounces back up?
I also tried the fob and it works fine for the passenger but it doesn’t work for the drivers either.

It does sound like an issue with the driver's door lock actuator assembly. The driver's door lock **** switch (which can be operated with the door key via the key cylinder) and the door lock actuator are both parts of the door lock actuator assembly.
The door lock **** switch is not the same as the door lock switch (which is a separate part).
