Need help with 93 1.6l si hatchback
So first off hello everyone I am new to this group but not new to my 93 hatchback. The problem I am having is my car runs perfectly fine day and day out and then all of a sudden it just does not want to start. I’ve clean the air filter check my fuel pump. I got spark and it’s super random when it decides it does not want to run, I’ve had this car for 26 years and this is the first time I’ve ever had an issue like this with it compression is good it’s well maintained has all of her fluids regularly changed out. My assumption is it’s either the map sensor or throttle position sensor as I have no vacuum leaks that I can find, but wasn’t sure if that would be the issue, causing it to just decide to not start up starter works fuel pump works like I got air fuel electricity, so what could possibly be causing my car to just randomly not start it doesn’t matter whether it’s cold or hot. She just decides when she doesn’t want to start any help would be great. Thanks again. Also never seen a check engine light I should also add when she decides not to start I do talk to her as I am checking for fuel pump noise checking spark and she will usually start after about ten minutes of conversation but running out of things to say to her and upgrade parts to buy as all women love gifts anyways she has done this to me five times now and I am baffled also no idle issues when running
When it doesn't start, is it still cranking?
You could check for voltage at the TPS. I would also pop the cover off the ECU and make sure you don't have any capacitors that have blown and started to leak. These 30+ year old electronics and solder joints are starting to break apart.

Please save us the strain of so many lines of run-on sentence!
You are sure your main relay is powering the fuel pump under no-start conditions?

Distributor coil or it's Ignition Control Module ? Though you did suggest you have spark..?
The latter can be quite erratic with temperature variations & soldered connections.
Was my last problem with my DC2 suddenly deciding not to start, & I had a spare distributor on another car. I could toss in.

I'll second that. had a similar set of symptoms years ago with a '94 EX. A loose ground, at the thermostat housing IIRC would sometimes make good contact and sometimes not.
