Default I need help identifiying a 2006 rsx base tranny.

I am about to buy an used mint condition 2006 acura rsx base model 5mt, is there any way of knowing the original tranny serial number? i already checked every vin plate and decals and they all match. I just wanted to make sure if the tranny that it has is the same from factory according to its serial number. I was told that, each car has an assignated tranny serial number from factory records. the cars vin is JH4DC53826S003856. any help would be appreciated.

All that you can really prove is that the transmission case is original to the chassis or not... what is inside cannot be guaranteed. If the VIN tag riveted to the transmission appears to be unmolested, as in the retaining rivets look just like those found on the engine block and there are no marks on the VIN plate to indicate any tampering... then chances are better than not that the transmission is original.

Why is it so critical that you know this information... and can confirm the origin of the transmission ?
