1991 Accord LX- S light started flashing. Acceleration seemed sluggish and it would skip second gear when shifting. Paperclipped the readout connector and got 7 flashes at the S light. Pulled the TCU out and I'm guessing that the capacitors look fine (no burns/leakage and doesnt wiggle)e Wiring and connections look good-
After being shut off and restarted the S light was off- took it for a test drive and seemed to drive normal. Shut it off and restarted it, S light started blinking again and began shifting weird again.
I'm assuming that the Shift Solenoid A is bad? Do both solenoids have to be replaced as a pair? Couldn't find a diagram but I'm assuming the solenoid at fault is the lower one next to the dipstick?
