DIY Transmission Flush Via Multiple Changes?
Just wanted to inquire as to the viability of this method, as opposed to a standard flush at a shop.
I have read about a method of flushing your own fluid that involves 4 or 5 changes of the transmission fluid.
Drain, refill, drive a thousand miles, repeat 4 or 5 times.
In this way you mix the old and the new, continually diluting any old fluid, whilst removing ever more debris.
Is this method viable, and as good as taking it to a shop for a flush in terms of how much debris you remove?
It's not much cheaper, considering the amount of fluid we're talking about having to purchase, but at the same time you're not introducing any external pressures into the system that it might not be able to handle.
Any thoughts?
