2000 Accord EX w/ 2.3L SOHC VTEC. My son was driving about 55MPH and the car died, he thought he ran out of gas. Put 5 gallons in and tried to start. It just cranked with no sputtering. Pressed the gas pedal and it started to sputter, so I turned the key off, then on and repeated 3 times to allow the engine to prime with fuel. I tried to turn it over again it a few times and the thing was dead. No crank, no start. The engine appears to want to crank, but will not. The pulleys and belt move about a quarter inch then the car is silent. It is not seized as i have been able to turn the crank a full rotation. I have replaced the starter, checked the cut relay, throttle position sensor and replaced the ignition switch with no luck. Any ideas of what the issue may be? Note: The old ignition switch had some wires "spliced" into it that went to nothing. Maybe there was some sort of AM security system installed and the wires that went to nothing finally fell out of where ever they went and this is the cause. I am new to forums and I will try to upload some pictures of the old ignition switch and it's spliced wires.

Having the same issue myself and have tried just about everything you have..no luck on my end but I did want to say that the spliced wires in my in my 94 Accord DX is from a Breathalyzer Interlock device previously being installed.
