2003 good battery no crank
battery was tested good , Recently replaced a bad one and things were OK for a week then we stopped at a store and it wouldn't crank . Cleaned off the tangs on the ignition fuse under the steering wheel and it fired up . One week later made a stop , came back out and it won't crank . Dash lights come on and die when you try to crank it . No horn ,headlights and can't connect to ECM with obdII scanner . Any thoughts ? Thanks
The problem was the pos. cables at the terminal clamp . There were 2 frayed wires going into the clamp , looked O.K. but was not a good connection . A few days ago it wouldn't start and I cleaned the ignition fuse tangs and it started , that kind of threw me off and I'm used to other symptoms when cable connections are bad .I also took the new batt to be tested and the store said it was bad . Another store said it was in good shape , which makes me think the battery I had in the basement was actually good and the one store said it wasn't just to sell a new battery . Initially , 2 weeks ago , it did have a bad battery and I had one from a scrapped honda , that worked for a while and the pos wires decided to quit around the same time . .. Some times these things happen in groups so you have to trouble shoot a problem disregarding recent assumptions .
