Default 95 VX AC blows hot

Trying to fix the AC now that it’s getting hot. When I push the AC button the compressor clutch doesn’t engage but the engine revs from 1k to 1500 back and forth. It stops this pattern when I push it off.

so far replaced the relays next to the condenser (they absolutely burnt out) and fuse in the engine bay. I’m assuming the RPMs has to be a tell tale sign for something.

thanks in advance

As far as I know, our VX's didn't come with AC so I suspect your's was added after the fact. You may have to go through all the wiring to make sure it's correct, then also make sure the compressor is working with a working clutch etc etc. Does not sound like a fun project.

The clutch will not engage with the press of the ac button if the system is too low on refrigerate. To check the clutch apply 12 volts to the ac compressor wire with the car off you should hear it click. I went through this when I purchased my eg sedan after doing a b18c1 swap. Took it to get recharged and the ac worked for a while but stopped cause I have a leak so now I need to find the leak.
