Importing Honda CRX ESI?? To America
I’m in a bit of head space jam. I personally think that all I need is a US conversion kit to change it from EU to US spec but I also think that it’s fine as is..
Yupp.. That’s my pickle you’re looking at.. I get car hands on car the this car this Friday

If only there was such a thing.
OP, what state are you in? You gave little info - You can likely register this as a Del Sol Si with little issue depending on your locale. California, for example, would likely be more difficult (but not undoable).

Okay, so this dude just wants to import and register a JDM/EUDM vehicle? The vehicle will be registered as whatever it is. It will not be registered as another model. Each state has specific rules for registering vehicles not manufactured for initial sale in the US. In Pennsylvania, I had to complete a Form MV1 and submit all import documentation to the state. Besides that, it's just like registering a regular car. California is indeed a different case.

FYI, it wouldn't be trying to register it as a different car. A CRX ESI is quite literally a del sol Si (Full name is CRX del sol). He should be able to register it with little issue, depending on the state. California would require an EPA sticker and smog certificate and proof that it conforms. Other than that, it's exempt from crash/safety requirements since it's <'95. California also generally doesn't care if the car is safe, only that it's not shitting smog.
