A few weeks ago my ignition key alarm and the intermitant windshield wiper stopped working. I couldn't find a fuse for this circuit in the Owner's Manual. I'm assuming that the wires carrying current for these two functions became compromised at the same time, perhaps something in the steering column rubbed against them. I'm wondering how to get access to the steering column to have a look.

 

Is your red brake light on your dash also on? Same thing happened in mine and it was the multiplex control unit

 

Yah, brake light started staying on several months ago, instrument lights went out a few weeks ago. What is the multiplex control unit and where is it located?

 

The fusebox under the driver's side of the dash. I replaced mine because it wasn't very expensive but there might be ways of making it work without

Too difficult for me (I'm 80) to root around under the dash board. I'll just live with it for the time being.
