2000 honda civic trans headache
2000 honda civic lx, maual, been working on thia thing for a minute now. Problem is i cant get the clip ring on the counter shaft to seat, ive been wiggling and droping, tho the ground i been dropping it on isnt concrete i dont see why it wont seat.
Long story, i broke two clip ring bearings as i seemed to have damaged the original clip ring, i have the new clip and bearing in and got the transmission back together now. Ive screwdriver shifted it throu all the gears, now the slot where you put the bolt through on the outside of the trans wasnt open but i stuck a crew driver in to get the slot open (im not sure if that was the right move or not but was able to put it in by hand) not sure if that would cuase this problem of the snap ring not seating. It dose spin free and smooth and as i said before i can shift through all gears tho 5th and revers are somewhat sticky but they always have been. Plz help, im not sure if ive done something wrong that is causing this.
