my Dad is getting old
So my 85 year old Dad refuses to move from a 2 acre lot to a suburb. That means I need to cut his grass this summer. He has a rider, but he also likes to tinker with it so I am going to just presume that it is non functional. I need to get my rider to his house. The rider weighs 425lb, the trailer I am looking at is 250lb. Can a 1995 civic lx 5sp tow that weight? I bought a hitch for it off Etrailer mainly as a joke a few years ago. I "believe" that I read somewhere that it can tow 1000lb but cannot remember where I read it. The owners manual state that towing is not advisable and will void any warrenty
Any ideas?
Thanks

I have personally seen a couple of Civic's (and one Del Sol) through the years towing one or two jet skis and two dirt bikes. I would say you would be good.
I know this is an old thread, but towing my riding lawnmower out to dads, 40 miles one way, got me thinking. Whats the weirdest/largest thing people have seen a honda or a small car tow.?
Btw my 95 civic lx with 445k miles did just fine towing. trailer weight 400# mower 415# , edger 30# for a total of 845 pounds. It does fine
Just wondering
