Default Maybe speakers aren't blown

I have a 2005 civic LX sedan and 3 speakers don't work(just bought car used). I tried to test one speaker with a multimeter but it seemed too awkward from in the trunk. I distantly remember a story from the 1960s about black stuff building up on the speaker connectors blades or pins. Not the connector from the radio. The buildup could imitate a bad speaker.Has anyone heard of this?

The multi meter may not read the radio out put , use a speaker you know is good to test ,You can test for ohms on speakers but it may not be a good indication . If electrical contacts are tarnished it will cause resistance and problems . Blown speakers sound distorted at high volume . rock auto has the adapter plate needed for new speakers . The screws provided may not work and a fatter screw may be needed .

I already know that there's nothing wrong with the radio . I tested it with a spare speaker I had around. My concern is, has anyone ever experienced three dead silent speakers(no buzzing or anything) and found out it was maybe build up on the spade connectors in the speakers? I used a multimeter to check for 3-4 ohms but the awkward position you have to get into in the trunk doesn't give a definite result.
