2000 Honda Civic changed radiator. Car started then shut off.Now cranks but no start
It started up fine before, but as soon as I replaced the radiator, filled it up and started it, it ran for 5 minutes and then I saw a little smoke from the engine bay and then it shut off. Now every time I turn the key, the car cranks, but never starts. What happened?
I'm not sure what happened. Let it run and then 5 minutes later, smoke shows and shuts off. I hate working on cars so much. I might just have it towed off my driveway for good.
Sounds like main wire may have got shorted. Double check your fuses. Did you unplug any sensors while doing the rad replacement?
The smoke you saw, do you know where it was coming from? I was meaning a main wire shorted out somewhere. Idk.. maybe you just had water/coolant steaming off when it started smoking?
Did you check your fuses? Is your ECT sensor plugged in? The harness ground on thermostat housing on good?
Look around for burnt/melted wires off the harness around the area you were working.
