Default B16A Aftermarket Rod Choice?

greetings gang. I recently picked up a 95 eg hatch with a jdm b16a in it. first ever jump into the honda world. my goal is to run about 10 lbs of boost and have reliability…numbers may increase as excitement fades as usual.

I am struggling to decide on which brand of rods and pistons to go with as there is a lot of different information out there.

currently looking at skunk2, manley, and eagle. they all shot peen, two part form, magnaflux, 4340 chromoly. any experiences with these brands, any better than the other? any different recommendations. less than 800$ is ideal for a rod set.

next up is pistons and it seems wiseco is the go to, any other options or experiences?

i really dont want to deal with milling piston for clearances and mix matching rods sets. id heavily prefer to get a nice strong set of rods capable of way over my intentions. a nice set up that matches would be ideal. everything will be measured honed and clearance checked no matter what.

thanks guys, shoot away!

I'm using Mahle powerpak 81mm 9:1 with eagle rods in my b18c1 block running 14 psi, only machining I had done was resurfacing the head and a quick cylinder honing. The Mahle rings were literally drop in ready, right on spec for ring end gap for my build. Been rocking this setup for the last 15 years so I can vouch for them.

Honestly I'd get whatever H beam you can find for the best price from a name brand company, excluding things like the "lightweight" NA rods that Brian Crower sells.

Anything else that comes with ARP 2000 rod bolts will be good. K1, Manley, Eagle, Skunk2, Callies, etc.
