Hey guys so I just traded a truck for a 1994 dx coupe d16y8 (engine from a 1999) it is obd1. I drove it a hundred miles no problem and then on my way to work no matter how much throttle I gave it it would just jerk and surge really bad. If you red lined it would just surge like it was in limp mode. I have codes 1/7/14/16/43 no check engine light when I drove the car all the way home. So I changed the fuel filter because the guy left one in there and it is now actually able to red line without hesitation or surging. The idle still sounds iffy and I’m worried to take it down the road. The car has a p28 I believe computer in it. It’s a manual originally auto. The car has multiple oil leaks as well value cover/vtec gasket/.

 

Might be worth looking at the wiring at the ecu. The car is new to you it could be all hacked up down there.
