1995 Civic EG8 shuts off/no start bad ECU???
Hello all,
I have been working on my brother’s 1995 Civic sedan with the D15B7 engine and it has an intermittent problem where it shuts off while driving. When it does this, sometimes it will restart right away, other times it won’t.
I confirmed that the vehicle does not have spark when it doesn’t restart (cranks over just fine), and I’ve checked the three wires on the ICM for battery voltage with the ignition on. It appears that I don’t have any voltage at the yellow/green wire coming from the ECU.
Could this mean that I have an ECU problem? What should my next steps be for diagnosing?
Also, if it is an ECU problem, would I need to program the new unit upon installation?
Thanks in advance.

This reads like the classic symptoms of a failed main relay. remove, take a part, resolder, reassemble, reinstall. Or replace if you're not soldering proficient.
