Stereo tuner replacement opions 1995 ex
Hello
I purchased a double DIN system from Crutchfield,]nothing special just something more modern, bluetooth phone, usb ,Aux, and single port CD player
The mounting kit is absolute garbage, flimsy plastic and no usable mounting brackets. After 2 days of this, that and the other thing the flimsy project is a mess;.
What did you put in your car and what mounting kit works?
Thanks

What 2 din did you go with out of curiousity? I got the Pioneer 622BS from them in 2021, mounted it in 2022 and im already having problems with the screen/control interface
Interesting -
The flimsy plastic Metra base wobbles inside the dash and the side bracket tabs that lock into the base plate broke
The plastic is allergic to repairs
Also the retaining window that covers the receiver doesn't doesn't clip onto the console or receiver . There is a 1/8 gap between the receiver and console plastic. On pre- install there are gaps and a wobbly fit. Doesn't cut the mustard, looks like hell
I got a single DIN unit to see how it fits and that fits pretty snug. The plastic cover window clips onto the receiver, so that part is fairly secure.
There are no gaps anywhere, so it looks pretty good for a dinky cluttered display. On the other hand assembling the whole thing to pre-install inside the console is a slippery mess. As restorations and rebuilds are not new to me, these plastic kits suck.
If I can figure out how to secure the double DIN, that would be peaches. I will return one of these once I drop the gavel on the installation parts
BTW ---- anyone heard of a different installation kit from another supplier????
