I've seen all kinds of different responses but not sure. I did try to siphon gas out of the gas tank but couldn't get it to work.

 

There should be a drain bolt on the bottom of the tank. If not, unhook the feed line before the fuel filter, jump the fuel pump to the battery, and pump the tank empty.

 

I'll look for the drain bolt. Currently don't have battery yet. Thanks so much.

 

I have had good luck disconnecting the return on the side of the tank.
Using an air compressor nozzle and a rag in the gas cap hole put some pressure in the tank to start a siphon,
My replacement tanks don't have a drain plug.
