I have a 1999 Accord EX, I4 2.3L F23A1, Auto trans. 235,000 miles. I got it for 2500 as my first car and it’s a sh*tbox no doubt but it’s served me well. I’ve gotten a pretty much hunk of cash in my back pocket and im asking honestly is there’s any use in trying to mod/fix up my car or should I take that money and look for a newer car? Im pretty mechanically inclined (worked on other smaller engines and stuff but never a full 4 wheel sedan). I’m a little attached to Betty but if she’s only a few thousand miles away from a major problem then it’s not economical for me to pump money into her.

 

If you're mechanically inclined you're not going to enjoy working on a new car. They're computers on wheels. Do the small maintenance bits as needed and when the engine or trans fails you can decide then.

 

Yeah, not much mods to be done to a f23 honestly, especially in auto form. I would say just keep this vehicle going until the trans fails then decide if you gonna manual swap or get a different car.
