1991 D15B2 mini me swap with D16Y8 head
I've got a 1991 Civic DX with a d15b2 non-vtec motor (blown head) and a d16y8 vtec head. I've done a little research on this and know I need to use an adjustable cam gear, which I've already purchased, a y8 timing belt, and to pull the oil jet off the block. Main thing I'm curious about is will I be able to get vtec to work with current ECU if I wire it in or will I need a different ECU? And if I do need a different ECU, can I just not use the vtec? Any insight is much appreciated.
