K swap in 99 ek civic on ek subframe.
Hi guys, planning on buying a k24a3 engine/box package (a3 is the same as a2) for my 99ek civic. Just wondering why swapping it onto the OEM ek subframe is frowned upon for the most part?
Trying not to go through the hassle of finding a complete eg subframe with a ps on the steering column.
thanks.

Advantages of the EG subframe: 1) Lighter weight. 2) Moves the engine slightly rearward, providing better axle alignment and increasing hood clearance (particularly important when using the K24A engine). 3) More room for radiator and fans.
Yea when i had my K swapped EK hatch with EG subframe even using the EKK2 mounts my K20A2 valve cover would still rub on the hood. The K24 will have more clearance issues but I'm sure there is a good mount kit for the K24.
(As you can tell google hasn't helped me much lol)
Yea k-tuned has EKK4 mounts that seem to mount it without clearance problems so I guess we'll see haha.
