I have a 2005 Honda Civic EX. I had the D17A2 Vtec engine in it however I had to replace it and the only one I was able to find cheap and fast was a D17A1 non Vtec. Ok so here's my problem now with the recent rain and all the flooding my car was stuck in water. The water was almost covering my front tires so yea it was pretty bad had to move my car from where it was the person that moved it made the mistake of trying to start it while it was in the water however the exhaust wasn't under water when that happened. Only tried cranking the engine once and ended up pulling it out (engine was not on just turned the key one time to be able to put it in neutral). Anyway as soon as it was on dry ground I pulled the sparks plugs out to see if they were wet two of them were slightly wet but not much air intake filter was dry also. Hit anything that was electrical with WD-40, drained my oil changed the oil filter, pulled my gas tank off emptied it cleaned it out, replaced fuel pump and filter, drained transmission oil i was not able to find the filter for that on the car i did purchase it though, bought a new battery, pulled ECU out also sprayed a little WD-40 on that it didn't look like there was any moisture there though. Prior to doing all this once it was dried out I tried starting and it cranks and turns over but it stalls right away even when revving the engine. Today I filled it back up with oil, transmission fluid, and gas i even bought gas treatment in case theres a little bit of water in there i did hit the fuel lines with an air compressor as well anyways so my question is if it does not start after all this what could it be???
