Default Rear Trailing Arm

Hello - front bushings(the large one) on the rear trailing arm on my 1997 Honda Accord LX 4-cyl sedan are cracked(both left & right sides). Not sure if the on/off metal rubbing/grinding noise I hear while making sharp turns(with body roll) is due to cracked bushings or the wheel hub bearings. My question is how difficult job is it to remove the trailing arm and replace with new ones? I do not have an impact wrench, are the bolts attached to vehicle body too difficult to remove with braker bar or something or should I take it to a mechanic?

It's a little difficult to do without an impact gun but can be done. Now what do you mean by cracked? Are there just surface fissures or can you move the tire fore-and-aft with the rear end off the ground? Trailing arm bushings rarely wear out, that sounds much more like a bearing than your bushing. Trailing arms are for front and back movement. You have body roll because I'm pretty sure your LX doesn't have a rear sway bar. You'll need an EX rear cross-member for that.

I never knew the LX doesn't have a rear sway bar, wow. What a way to save a few bucks and ruin the handling Honda.

But yes, no sway bar will definitely contribute to body roll

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, bushings are gone. Both trailing arms have side to side play and bushings appear not attached to the arm anymore, two different shops confirmed that arms need replaced.
And yes, no sway bar on my LX.

Having hard time finding the correct trailing arms for my 97 Accord LX-4Cyl Sedan. Looks like the trailing arms for 4-Cyl and V6 are different, the V6 arm appears to have a wider front bushing compare to the 4-cylinder sedan. But the places I checked(NAPA/Oreillys/CarParts.com) are giving me conflicting info. NAPA says the correct part is the one with wider bushing but looking at my car, the bushing is narrow, I am confused as none of the local retails carry the part so that I can take a look at before purchase. NAPA wants a $30 non refundable shipping fee since the part is a special order.

Any advise is appreciated.
