New to HT and I read some older posts about swapping JDM trans into USDM accord. After purchasing jdm auto trans and disassembling car to remove old trans, we noticed that the JDM trans had an external neutral safety switch. Looked at code and it is an MPJA trans. Not sure how to tackle this, older posts state that the shifter mounted neutral safety switch on the 96 Accord only needs to be adjusted for this trans to work with this car. Poster said they just left the external mounted sensor alone (don't know what that means.) How will JDM trans work properly if sensor is not connected? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Just wanted to update, took a chance and swapped out old trans with jdm mpja trans and it is driving great! Did what others said in different posts and left neutral safety switch alone that is mounted on trans. Shifting and mph were off until i swapped vss from old trans, fixed everything.
