Default Rough start in park

My 95 Civic DX Sedan 1.5 is running rough when I start it up. Once I toss it into any other gear it runs fine. Only running bad in park almost sounds like it’s going to stall out…

It sounds like your issue may be related to your engine's idle control system. When you start the car, the idle control system should keep the engine running smoothly, but if it's not functioning properly, you may experience rough idling or stalling.

One common cause of this issue is a dirty or malfunctioning idle air control valve (IACV). The IACV controls the amount of air that bypasses the throttle plate and enters the engine when the throttle is closed. If the IACV is clogged with dirt or not working properly, the engine may not get enough air when idling, causing it to run roughly or stall.

Another potential cause of this issue is a vacuum leak. When the engine is idling, it relies heavily on vacuum pressure to operate various systems. If there is a leak in the vacuum lines or components, this can cause rough idling or stalling.

I recommend taking your car to a mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue, as it can be difficult to determine the exact cause without proper equipment and knowledge. Good luck!
