Just a question to kind of confirm my own suspicions as well as those of a mechanically inclined friend of mine. Vehicle is a 2000 Honda Accord Automatic V6 DX (I know, the transmissions are highly temperamental on this year, the one on mine is a rebuild with sub100K miles on the rebuilt, and 230K total), vehicle was acquired second hand.
The transmission was acting very poorly, and would continuously get stuck and "Buck" when shifting into gear after it revved up high. After three drain and fills (I know not to do any flushing on the hondas) and filled with the appropriate D1, the transmission now shifts smooth as buttered silk, but only if shifting manually, if left in automatic the car will continue to get stuck in gears and refuse to shift.
Status of the plug when first changed, no I am not on carpet that's my grass lol.
The ECM Was just replaced, as was the alternator (Unlikely the alternator has anything to do with it), there was only the standard wear-shavings on the drain plug, no large metal chunks (The fluid looked very poor when it came out as it had not been changed in 100+K miles, and yes I am aware of the danger of destroying the transmission having put new fluids in), so I want to confer here with other honda owners and see if the problem is potentially the solenoids have gone out, or if people think it might be further issue with the transmission on the whole, or if I should just "Knuckle up" and get a rebuilt put in.
