is it possible to use a key fob from a 2016 Honda crv touring edition on another honda? ie can it be reprogrammed? I know the physical key won't work but what about the remote part? My 2016 crv was totaled and I still have the original two key fobs and wonder if I should just toss them or if they could be reprogramed for someone.

 

The smartkeys? Yeah they can be reused. Not so much the key gets reprogrammed but the car gets programmed to accept the keys.

 

these ones. not sure if they are called smartkeys or not. they towed my wrecked crv to the salvage yard without bothering to ask for the keys.

 

Yup those are the smartkeys. The backup physical key blanks can be purchased and cut at a dealership to match the next car.
