Default Swapping a Mirror Cover

Honda R519P, Redrock Pearl

The 18yo steel hinge within the right-side mirror snapped in half. Honda retired Honda R519P in 2006, and no local junkyard has that color 05/06 Odyssey in their inventory (also checked LKQ nationwide with zero success). So much for simply swapping a part.

I disassembled the original part with the intention of swapping the cover between the two, and I am completely thwarted by the spring assembly within the housing. Painting the housing is the next reasonable idea, but sourcing a 12oz rattle can of aftermarket Honda R519P-equivelant paint is also somewhat of a hassle; mostly though, I just can't accept that swapping the cover is impossible. Meanwhile, I'm grudgingly driving around with a (fully functional) blue mirror on my red Odyssey and it bothers me on a neural level.

Surely someone has successfully swapped the cover/housing on an exterior mirror. If that's you, please post a step-by-step procedure for doing the deed.

SUCCESS!
A kind soul uploaded to YouTube his detailed process of changing an Odyssey mirror cover. I am vexed no more.

For those who've come across this post for the same or similar need, here y'go:
